「おかき処 寺子屋本舗 川越店」は、時の鐘からほど近い、蔵造りの街並み（一番街）沿いにあるおかき・せんべいの専門店です。全国的にも有名な人気店で、川越店では特に、出来たての生おかきを串に刺して提供する「串もち」が食べ歩きグルメとして大人気です。
看板メニューの「串もち」は、ふっくらとした生のおかきをその場で焼き上げ、醤油、明太子マヨネーズ、ずんだ、ごま、のりなど、豊富なフレーバーから選べます。注文を受けてから焼くため、出来立ての熱々、外はカリッと中はモチモチの絶妙な食感を楽しめます。価格は1本300円ほどと手頃で、観光の手土産にも最適です。
店内には様々な種類の和風せんべいやおかきが量り売りで販売されており、お土産選びにもぴったり。店先にはベンチも設置されているため、買ったその場で座って味わうこともできます。

“Okakidokoro Terakoya Honpo Kawagoe Branch” is a rice cracker (okaki/senbei) specialty shop located along the Kurazukuri streetscape (Ichibangai), near the Toki no Kane bell. This is a popular chain nationwide, and at the Kawagoe branch, the “Kushi-mochi” (skewered fresh rice crackers) served freshly made on a skewer is an extremely popular food for strolling and eating.
The signature “Kushi-mochi” features plump, fresh rice crackers grilled on the spot. You can choose from a variety of flavors such as soy sauce, mentaiko mayonnaise, zunda (mashed edamame), sesame, and seaweed. Because they are grilled after you order, you can enjoy them piping hot, with a perfectly crispy exterior and chewy interior. Priced affordably around 300 yen per stick, they are also ideal as a small souvenir.
Inside the shop, a wide variety of Japanese-style senbei and okaki are sold in bulk, perfect for souvenir hunting. Benches are available in front of the shop, so you can sit and enjoy your purchase right away.
